It seems that the 8220;Made in China8221; label has influenced not only the business community but our politicians as well. One example is Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhury, who wants to have a first-hand experience of Chinese law and society to gather ideas for enacting better legislation in India for women and children. So, she is planning to visit China from March 20 to 28. During her week-long journey, Chowdhury will reportedly have consultations with authorities and experts there on domestic violence laws, progress and evolution of women in Chinese society and child-adoption laws. But with China having a completely different legal system, how far Chowdhury8217;s visit can help matters at home is anybody8217;s guess. Lets not forget too that important legislations related to her ministry8212;like the Sexual Harassment Bill, Dowry Amendment Bill, etc8212;are pending for some time now.
