The daily allowance of Test cricketers have been increased from 50 to 70 for overseas trips by the Board of Control for Cricket in India8217;s finance committee, which met here today under the chairmanship of Sudhir Nanavati. The committee also increased the benevolent fund payments for umpires.

8220;It was also decided that the monthly welfare scheme measures payable to players and umpires would henceforth be called benevolent fund payment, instead of pension, and the monthly payment to Test umpires have been increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000,8221; BCCI sources said. 8220;Test cricketers8217; monthly benevolent fund payment remains the same at Rs 35,000,8221; the sources said. The decisions will, however, have to be ratified by BCCI8217;s working committee.
