BHUBANESWAR, FEBRUARY 12: Ten rebel Biju Janata Dal BJD leaders contesting against official party candidates in the assembly elections in Orissa were today expelled from the party.

They were expelled by the party president, Naveen Patnaik for six years for their anti-party activities, a BJD press release said.

Those expelled are: Bidulata Huika Rayagada, Sidheswaracharya Angul, Sanajeeb Kumar Sahoo Birmaharajpur, Ratnakar Behera Bari, Ramesh Chandra Das Aul, Minati Behera Tirtol, Sirir Das Ersama, Ramesh Chandra Swain Kishannagar, Bikram Keshari Varma Mahanga and Saroj Kumar Padhi Aska.

However, the list released by BJD did not contain the names of several other prominent rebel party men who were also contesting the elections against official party candidates.
