
Chandigarh, June 15: College teachers from the city and all over Punjab reportedly boycotted evaluation work today following a call given by the Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union PCCTU.
The call for the boycott was given to protest against the 8220;hurdles being created by the Punjab government and the UT administration in implementation of the notification and delay in notification of the agreed upon clauses of the December 24, 1998 notification,8221; Punjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union sources said.
In separate statements today, Dr Jagwant Singh, president and Dr Labh Singh Kheeva, secretary of the PCCTU district council, and Dr Shinder Pal Singh, secretary of thePunjab and Chandigarh College Teachers Union held that the boycott was a complete success.
Hunger strike on n The relay hunger strike by members of the Khadi Board Employees Union in pursuance of their demand entered the seventh day today, a press release issued by Ragbhir Singh Dhaliwal, president of the union.
