
Former Tata group director Freddie Ardeshir Mehta passed away on Sunday morning following a brief illness.
In an illustrious career spanning nearly 50 years with the Tata group, Mehta served as chairman on a number of group companies including Tata Investment Corporation, Tata Asset Management, the Forbes group of companies Goodlass Nerolac, Eureka Forbes, Rallis India and Tata Mcgraw Hill Corporation, a company release said.
Mehta who joined the group in 1956 was promoted to the Tata Sons in 1972, it said. He also served as chairman of Siemens India and SKF Bearings besides being on the boards of Burroughs Welcome, Bayer India, Escorts and VIP, it added.
