The swearing-in ceremony of President Pratibha Patil had left some VIPs feel they were 8220;lesser8221; VIPs. A number of MPs were peeved by the fact they were seated after the first eight rows, which were reserved for special invitees and according to Warrant of Precedence. And many of those on the first rows were chairmen of unknown commissions and retired judges or bureaucrats. Attorney General Milon Banerjee, who entered from a wrong gate, could not locate his seat and walked out, declaring there was no designated seat for him. A Union Minister ran after him and persuaded him to walk back. He was suitably accommodated between Principal Secretary T K A Nair and Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrashekhar.
