VADODARA, Oct 5: Detection of Crime Branch DCB Inspector Kirit Brahmbhatt, who was suspended following charges of asking a share of 10 per cent from a builder in a construction project, has been eluding the police for the last two days.

Brahmbhatt, who went on a five-day leave on October 1, reportedly in apprehension of some action after the builder lodged a complaint, was not available even to receive the suspension order. The order was, therefore, pasted on the wall of his house.

Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP V M Gaur told Express Newsline that an armed guard had been posted outside his official residence in Vadodara so that he could be arrested on his return. He said the Anand police had also be alerted to keep a watch over his parents and relatives8217; houses. The suspended PI is from Anand.

It may be recalled that builder Gopalbhai K Patel had in September last lodged a complaint with Commissioner of Police Kuldip Sharma alleging that Brahmbhatt had demanded money or 10 per cent share in one of his construction projects and threatened action if he failed to oblige him.
