
Postal agents licensed
In order to avoid inconvenience and delay in delivery of mail, the Department of Post has licensed five postal agents to sell stamps, envelopes etc in the Subhanpura area with immediate effect. They are Kanhaiyalal M Trivedi, 49, Bajrang Society, opposite Sitaram Complex; Ketan Narendrabhai Vyas, 91/792, Surya Kiran Flats, opposite Akanksha Duplex, Samata Road; Bhagwandas Somabhai Patel, 46, Ganga Jamna Society; Hemant I. Shah, 3/3, Parshwa Complex, Ellora Park and Divyesh D. Patel, 3, Park View Compound, New IPCL Road.
Blood donated
As many as 49 people, including railway employees and their spouses, donated blood at a camp organised at the Divisional Railway Hospital in Pratapnagar by the Indu Blood Bank in collaboration with Bharat Scouts and Guides, Western Railway, recently. The camp was inaugurated by Divisional Railway Manager K C Jena.
Exhibition
Sarathi Social Action for Rural and Tribal Inhabitants of India and Shishu Milap, a city-based voluntary organisation, have organised an exhibition of furniture, dress materials, bedcovers and cushion covers prepared by tribals of Panchmahals district at the Sarthi Rural Craft outlet at Land Mark Building, Race Course, Vadodara, between 10 am and 8 pm till Thursday. The proceeds of the sale will go to the artisans.
AISECT opens
The Vadodara branch of the All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology was inaugurated here recently at Ellora Park. Established in 1984 in Bhopal, it has 670 branches across the country and is recognised by Department of Science and Technology and the Human Resource Development department of the Government of India. The diploma courses are certified by the Barkatullah University.
Last date
The last date for MA Part I students of M S University to pay tuition fees is Wednesday, according to an official release. Students who have still not deposited their fees should pay the amount between noon and 2 p.m. on Wednesday. After this time, fees will not be accepted.
Seven killed
Ahmedabad: Seven people were killed and five injured in a road accident on Dhulia road, at Virpur village in Surat district on Sunday. The mishap occurred when a truck dashed against a jeep GJ-5 AG-1666 travelling from Uchhal to Surat. The truck driver fled the spot after the accident and is absconding. Surat rural police are investigating.
