SBI branch to sell gold biscuits
The State Bank of India, Chowk Bazaar branch, plans to sell gold biscuits from February 6. Gold biscuits weighing five grams, 10 grams, 10 tola 116 grams will be sold. The biscuits, said to be 99 per cent pure, have been purchased from Switzerland. While their cost will depend on the market rates, one can buy gold upto 10 grams on cash. Bank General Manager P L Jangir will inaugurate the function on Saturday.

Convention
The annual convention of the Federation of Gujarat Malaylee Associations will be held in ONGC Town Hall, Ankleshwar on Sunday. A Prasad, IAS, would be the chief guest and, MP Mansukh Vasava and MLA from Ankleshwar Jayantibhai Patel would be the guests of honour.

Music festival
A three-day Baiju Sangeet Samaroh was held in Surat. The festival, organised jointly by the Gujarat Rajya Sangeet Natak Academy and Naad, an institute of classical music, was inaugurated by noted singer Pandit Dinanath Upadhyay on January 22. Noted among them who performed were Pandit D K Dattar violinist, Ustad Shaukat Hussain, Ratan Mohan Sharma vocalists and the mother-daughter duo Manju Mehta and Purvi Mehta on Sitar.

Camp in Bhestan
The Shree Shiv Shakti Vyasan Mukti Parivar has organised a camp in Bhestan on February 8. Sheshrao Maharaj, a leading saint of Maharashtra who has successfully held de-addiction camps in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat will be present.

Entry banned
Additional District Magistrate V D Asari has prohibited entry of unauthorised persons within the Ukhai Sherura firing range on February 14 as police personnel will be conducting their annual firing exercise.
