
VADODARA, Oct 27: Two students of the M S University8217;s Faculty of Social Work have been selected for the Eklavya Award for their excellence in academics. The students, who have been awarded for securing the first and second positions in the faculty, were given medals, certificates, and a cash award of Rs 2,500 each by the Eklavya Foundation for Teachers8217; Education.
Speaking on the occassion, to Sridhar Rajgopalan, director of the Foundation, said that these awards were presented to further encourage and motivate bright students to strive for excellence. 8220;Recognition for a job well done is a way to motivate people,8221; said Rajgopalan.
The Foundation has already established schools in Ahmedabad, Kheda and other districts, and educational institutes for teachers. Delivering his address, dean of the faculty Anil Navle said that such awards would encourage the students to perform better in the faculty and strive towards excellence.
Speaking on the occasion, MSU V-C Anil Kane said that Eklavya symbolised a self-made person. Kane cited examples from the scriptures highlighting the important role played by teachers. Kane distributed the prizes to the winners.
