Student thrashes teacher

A three-member committee has been formed to investigate the alleged beating of a teacher by a student of Santiniketan university here.

VC Sujit Bose said first year B.A. student Sonam Lepcha kicked and punched Krishnendu Gupta on Tuesday. The Sikkimese girl beat up two other students who tried to stop her. Gupta, who had lost consciousness, was rushed to a hospital. Teachers in the Centrally-administered-university have threatened to go on a strike in protest. ENS
