MUMBAI, MARCH 17: A student of NG Swamy College Chembur, Sameer Jadhav 20, was killed by his fellow collegians at Chembur on Tuesday night. Jadhav was attacked with bats and stumps by five students, police said.

The incident took place at around 10.30 pm, when Navneet Kavaskar 21 of NG Swamy College had a quarrel with one Kiran Patil 17 of the same college near Siddhant Travels along NG Marg. Jadhav and his friend Vikas Chavan 18 were with Kavaskar when the altercation took place.

Some time after the quarrel had died down, Patil returned to the spot with his friends Rishiprakash Patil 22, Nalin Patil 18, Mayur Shinde 17 and Ranjeet Ovhal 21. Finding Kavaskar missing, they attacked Chavan and Jadhav with bats and stumps. The injured were taken to Shatabdi Hospital, Chembur, where Jadhav was declared dead before admission. Chavan was given first aid and discharged.

All the five attackers have been arrested.
