
Mysterious disease claims 4
BAGHA BIHAR: Four children have died of a mysterious8217; disease at Gobrahiya and Norangia villages under Bagha block area in West Champaran district during the last three days.
Official sources said over 20 children suffering from the mysterious8217; disease had been admitted to the local primary health care centres. Local villagers, however, claimed the children died of encephalitis which had spread to neighbouring UP and Nepal.
Naxals killed in Andhra Pradesh
HYDERABAD: Three militants of the banned People8217;s War Group, including a Dalam leader, were killed in an encounter with the police at Kaluvalathippa village in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.
Police said Sunday that following a tip-off, the Special Enforcement Police rounded up a Naxal hideout and asked the Dalam members to surrender. When the extremists opened fire, police returned fire, killing three militants. Five others had managed to escape. Two revolvers, Communistliterature and diaries were seized from the spot, police said.
Woman gives birth to triplets
KARUR: A 25-year-old woman gave birth to triplets 8212; two males and a female 8212; at Kosur village near Thogamalai in Karur district of Tamil Nadu on Friday.
Police quoting delayed reports said Sunday that the mother, Pappa, gave birth to the triplets at her home. It was her third delivery and both the mother and children were in good health, police added.
