Hectic preparations on eve of Lucknow Mahotsav-2008

Distant venue notwithstanding, no effort has been spared to make Lucknow Mahotsav-2008 a cause de celebre like every year. To be inaugurated on Tuesday evening by Chief Minister Mayawati, the event is aimed at bringing alive the acres of Smriti Upvan land in Ashiana, Bangla Bazar. In the coming days, there will be events galore across the city, including ekka-tonga race, rowing contest, vintage car rally, poet meets and more. Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal, Sunidhi Chauhan and Mona Singh are among those expected to regale the visitors to the mela.
