Janmashtmi celebrated
Seems like spirituality is fast gaining ground. A few years back, Krishna Janmashtami used to hardly have a few hundred devotees celebrating the Lord’s birth. But this year, the ISKCON temple at Tarapore Road had a few thousand people visiting the temple all day and night long. The arrangements made by ISKCON was also very efficient. The gates marked the entry and exit points. The magnificent celebrations included a skit "Bhakti Ki Prakashta" put up by the children of the Bhakti Prahlad School. This was followed by Bharatnatyam dance recital, known as "Dashavatar" which depicted all the ten incarnations of Lord Krishna. After that an enthralling drama "Krishna Sudama" which portrayed the loving relationship between the two. Besides this there was an arti and a puppet show.

Some devotees even recreated Vrindavan complete with the Govardhan mountain and a stable holding a few cows. At several points books on mind control, life after death and so on were placed. To even a non devotee, the message was clear – The only way out of this stressful life was spiritualism.
