
Cricket coach Bapat passes away
Madhavrao Bapat, a renouned cricket coach, passed away at his residence owing to a prolonged illness, on Monday. He was 70.
Bapat who coached for over 30 years conducted his coaching at the PYC Gymkhana and ILS Law College. His coaching paid off in several players who went on to represent the State in the Ranji Trophy 8211; which include Hemant Kinikar, Sanjay Kondalkar and Indrajit Kamthekar. Bapat had also worked as a selector and adviser on various cricketing bodies, including the Maharashtra Cricket Association MCA.
