
SAI coaches demonstrate
Over 350 Sports Authority of India SAI coaches from all over the country yesterday staged a dharna at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to press their charter of demands, including grant of technical scale to grade III coaches and finalisation of pending promotions. Surinder Dangi, secretary-general of the All India SAI Coaches Welfare Association, said the association would decide the future course of action later.
The other demands of the association, listed in the memorandum submitted to the SAI Director General include finalisation of seniority of coaches, reversal of the declaration of coaches cadre, higher pay scale for coaches and not to grant further extension to persons who were already on extension.
Warm send-off
Roque Dias, deputy director at the National Stadium, was given a warm send-off by his colleagues today. Dias, who came from the Directorate of Sports, Goa, was holding fort at the Stadium since 1995. He has been now transferred to the Gandhi Nagar Centre of SAI. Rajat dazzlesn South Delhi Coaching Centre under-17, powered by a strokeful 72 by Delhi under-16 cricketer Rajat Khanna, beat their counterparts from Chetan Sharma and Sumeet Dogra Academy by two wickets at Gyan Gharati School.

Collage in final
Collage Group entered the final of Sir Syed Ahmed Khan memorial tournament at Aligarh when their semifinal match against ONGC was washed out due to rain. Collage moved up the easy way when the fate of the game was decided by spin of coin. Collage take on Sonnet in the final.
Pant sparkles
Rakshit Pant8217;s all-round show 3 for 25 and 57 helped Summer Cricket Coaching Camp XI beat Sonnet Club by two wickets.
