Fine all-round display by Jagjeet Singh 53 and 2 for 11 and fine spell by R Madan and Mohinder Pal helped Sahara Airlines triumph over Delhi Police by 42 runs in the first semi-final of the fourth Maharaja Agarsen Cup at Mont Fort School Ashok Vihar ground. Electing to bat first, Sahara Airlines scored 176 for five in 35 overs. Jagjit Singh 53 and Amar Singh 25 were the principal scorers. Jasvinder and Rajesh Sharma took two wickets each giving 35 and 37 runs, respectively, for Delhi Police.
In reply, Delhi Police were bundled out for a paltry 134 in 30.2 overs. Harish Handa 32 and Rajesh Tyagi 27 were the main contributors. R Madan, Mohinder Pal, Surender and Jagjeet Singh were the wicket-takers for Sahara Airlines.

Title for Ramjas
Ramjas Coaching Centre won the Campus cricket under-19 tournament beating KN Colts by one wicket in the final at Ramjas sports complex.
Batting first, KN Colts made 199 in stipulated 40 overs losing six wickets. Satpal Yadav scored unbeaten 52 while Nitin Sehgal made 46. Anubhav Diwan calaimed 4 for 22.
In reply, Ramjas Coaching Centre achieved the target 201 for 9 in 37 overs. Nitin Sharma scored 87. The scorers were Naveen Kumar 44 and Paras Gupta 30. Rishi Bawa took 5 wickets for 35.

Varun, Naveen shine
Fine knocks by Varun Loht 50 and Jatin Pal 35 not out and useful spell by Naveen Pawar enabled National Stadium Delhi down Sector-16 Stadium Chandigarh by 22 runs to reach the final of the Triangular Series under-14 at Chandigarh.

DTTA elections
N S Gujral, general manager, Punjab and Sind Bank, was recently unanimously elected president of the Delhi Table Tennis Association during its annual elections. Harinder Singh of Reserve Bank of India was re-elected secretary.

Gypsy for Delhi No. 1
Anshu Adlakha, Delhi No. 1 in boys singles in table tennis, received a Gypsy vehicle as a gift on Thursday from the New Delhi Traders Association which conducted a carnival in December last year. Anshu Adlakha is a student of Manav Sthali School.
