For the IISc, Wednesday8217;s night terror attack was the second serious security breach in less than a year. In May, Tenzing Tsundue, general secretary of the Friends of Tibet, thumbed his nose at the Bangalore police and the IISc security system by climbing a tower on top of the IISc administrative block to wave the Tibetan flag during the high security visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao.

Tsundue managed to outwit the Bangalore cops despite an IB warning with photographs that he was in town and likely to resort to his trademark protest for the 8216;Free Tibet8217; cause. Wednesday8217;s terror attack at IISc8217;s National Science Seminar Complex was no different. It happened right under the nose of the institute8217;s jurisdictional Sadashivanagar police station. The police station is located bang next door to the NSSC where the brazen terrorist walked in to indiscriminately shoot down delegates attending an international conference organized by the Operations Research Society of India.
