PUNE, June 23: After four year of impatience the World Cup is back, and it8217;s football, football everywhere. 8220;Ronaldo is my favourite.8221; 8220;Football is the most comprehensive, expensive and beloved game.8221; We get to hear such statements from very few people. For the majority of the people, it8217;s not football, but cricket always.

Not more than 10 countries play international cricket, whereas more than 50 countries play football. And almost all countries play football whereas very few play cricket.

There are 32 countries that are qualified for the World Cup, proving the popularity of the game worldwide. Tennis, football, athletics are favourite games all over the world. These games do not take a long time to play and even gives maximum satisfaction with the lowest cost.

A famous cricketer had once said, 8220;Why do all the children play cricket only? Why not football or some other game? To play cricket, it takes a lot of equipment and consumes a lot of time. And the children cannot spend time on other activities including studies.8221; He continued, 8220;Why should the children opt only for cricket? Why not football? It just takes one ball and many can participate, and they can stop it in certain time limit to go home and do other activities!8221; So right was he when he said this. But unless children are not introduced properly to other games, India cannot hold her head high in any field. Are Indians happy with the one bronze medal of Leander Paes in the Olympics? Indians have to say no to cricket in order to compete with the world.
