Sanat slams mismanagement8217;

VADODARA, June 14: The state government should master disaster management for cyclonic storms particularly because they have embarked upon large programmes of development of ports and jetties, said the former State Finance Minster Sanat Mehta.

Coming down heavily on the administration for its 8220;inability8221; to handle such serious disasters, he said that preventive measures were of utmost importance as cyclonic storms had become an annual feature on the state8217;s coastline.

In a press release issued here, the former Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Limited chairman said that the recent cyclone had left a trail of misery and devastation of infrastructure facilities and had created controversy about the death toll and inadequacy of relief measures.
