BARCELONA, JANUARY 10: Rivaldo made a dramatic return for Barcelona on Sunday, the Brazilian popping up in the final minute to seal a 2-0 win over Celta Vigo that lifted the Catalans to second in the Spanish League.
Rivaldo, who sat out two games after a row over tactics with coach Louis Van Gaal, came on as a second half substitute with his side leading 1-0, following Luis Figo’s goal after two minutes.
The European player of the year did not take long to make his presence felt as he rose at the far post to nod in Figo’s cross in the final seconds. A third win in four games put Barcelona four points behind leaders Deportivo Coruna (37).
LEEDS UNITED WIN: English championship leaders Leeds United held off a spirited challenge from first division front runners Manchester City to win their FA Cup fourth round 5-2 in London.
