Thiruvananthapuram, July 20: A 35-year-old woman’s proclamation that she would resurrect after her death ended in a fiasco at Puthenthope near here yesterday.

According to Kadinamkulam police, it all started on Friday morning when Susan Antony, 35, who has been running a meditation centre claimed that she would die on Friday midnight and resurrect the next day. On hearing her announcement a large number of people assembled to witness the event.

By midnight, the onlookers and devotees were made to believe that the woman was dead. While she was removed to another room, her followers claimed that the resurrection would take place the next day. Some of the people assembled there strongly objected to the claims of resurrection.

A police party visited the meditation centre at 7.30 a m on Saturday. However, the devotees prevented them from entering the premises. However, at 12 noon the CI and a doctor from Puthenthope hospital were allowed to enter the hall and examine the woman who was found to be alive.
