Result not declared, PTU students harassed

The alleged non-declaration of result of the re-appear examination of many students of Punjab Technical University PTU has raised the hackles of their parents.

PTU authorities, however, said parents come to Punjab Technical University directly without checking with the institutes concerned. Randhir Verma, father of a B.Pharma student, alleged that his son had taken admission in MSc Stem Cell and Tissue Engineering in Panjab University PU on the basis of the confidential result provided by Punjab Technical University on September 1. 8220;But now, Panjab University PU had refused to take the examination fee till the formal result card was provided,8221; said Verma. He said he has been shuttling between Chandigarh and Jalandhar for two months, but to no avail.

Kulwant Singh alleged that the confidential result of his daughter was provided by Punjab Technical University in August, but till date her result has not been declared.

Punjab Technical University PTU Dean Examination, Dr NP Singh said they had asked all the institutes to take the result from them, as the university doesn8217;t deal directly with students. He said the result of many such students has already been sent to the institutes concerned.

Parents, on the other hand, said institutes had sent them to the university, and allege harassment.
