BOB Woolmer was not murdered and died of heart failure, says a group of Scotland Yard detectives, who were assisting the Jamaican Police into investigations, a leading local daily claimed today.

The Sunday Gleaner said that according to a pathology report submitted by the Scotland Yard team the former Pakistan cricket coach died of natural causes and not manual strangulation as was initially reported by Jamaican Police Deputy Commissioner Mark Shields.

8220;The Scotland Yard report specifically said Woolmer died of heart failure, contradicting earlier reports by the investigative arm of the Jamaica Constabulary Force JCF and local pathologist, Dr Ere Sheshiah, who had conducted a post-mortem on Woolmers8217;s body,8221; the paper said quoting its sources in London.

The report said the Scotland Yard findings were disclosed last week during a meeting with Shields and Superintendent Colin Pinnace, who stopped over in London, en route to South Africa.

Focus on email: Bob Woolmer8217;s last email before his murder is set to become the focus of police investigations after friends of the Pakistan cricket coach expressed suspicion that it may have been sent by his killers to cover their tracks.

According to a report in The Sunday Telegraph, the Jamaican police is 8220;very interested8221; in the email, which was Woolmer8217;s resignation from the post of Pakistan coach sent to the PCB chairman Nasim Ashraf.
