In a major housing fraud involving crores of rupees, former sales head Shubham Bedi and his wife Mandeep Kaur remain at large even five months after an FIR was registered against them, raising questions over police action. The case is linked to a prominent housing project at Zirakpur.

Company owner Amit Dua alleged that Bedi, who was working as general manager (sales) with his firm M/s Rosero Infra LLP, conspired with his wife to cheat the company of nearly ₹14 crore. The accused allegedly collected huge sums in cash and through bank transfers from investors in the name of flat allotments but never deposited the money into the company’s accounts.

Police investigations revealed that the duo issued fake allotment letters without any authority, misleading investors. An FIR was registered at Zirakpur police station on September 18, 2025, under sections 316(4) (criminal breach of trust), 318(4) (cheating), and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita). The accused are also facing another cheating case at Patiala’s Civil Lines police station, where their bail has already been cancelled by the court.

Adding to the allegations, Dua has now accused Bedi of cyber fraud. In a complaint to the SSP Mohali (Cyber Crime), Dua alleged that Bedi is illegally misusing the company’s registered trademark “Rosero–A Revolutionary Era” on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. The accused is allegedly operating fake IDs with similar names to spread misleading information and damage the firm’s reputation. The company has demanded registration of a separate cyber crime case.

Gurpreet Singh, investigating officer, Zirakpur, said, “The case is registered and the investigation has been assigned to me. Earlier, it was being probed by Fatehgarh Sahib police, but it has now been transferred to Zirakpur. Raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.”
