November 29: Bandra Packers revived their chances of claiming the MDFA-conducted Harwood Super League football title when they scored a 1-0 victory over Village Amboli at the St Xavier8217;s ground, Parel, today.

The match-winner was scored by Clarence Remedious against the run of play and almost at the close of the match.

Village Amboli dominated the proceedings right through but failed to capitalise on the chances that came their way.

Women8217;s Football League

The city8217;s First Women Football League conducted by the Western India Football Association WIFA will commence from December 4 at the Karnataka Ground.

Six teams 8212; Andheri SC, Fr Agnel Gymkhana, Ryan International, Mahatma SC Chembur, Remedy Eves Borivli and Orlem Social Welfare Centre Malad.

The event will be played on the round-robin format with the team topping the league emerging supreme. All six teams will feature on the inaugural day8217;s proceedings, states a WIFA release.
