Reasonable field for AITA juniors

Chennai, Aug 15: There has been a splurge of junior tennis in the City. Some more tournaments are in the offing in the next 30 days. The India Pistons-KTC AITA Junior Tennis under-18 Championship gets under way at the Krishnan Tennis Centre tomorrow.

Kedar Tembe, Kedar Shah Maharashtra, N Mukundan TN and Sunil Kumar Chandigarh in the boys section and Gautam Sheetal Karnataka, Liza Periera Maharashtra, Sandhya Kanury TN and Geeta Manohar are the prominent players participating.

Qualifiers spotted: Jaidev Punjabi, Arjun Sharma Karnataka, Ritesh Chitlingya Rajasthan, Vivek Chandrasekar, AR Anand Kumar AP, Chatwinder Singh Chandigarh, Rahul Gandhi and Avinash Reddy TN made it to the main draw of boys section. On girls side, Priyanka Parekh, Riddhina Parekh, Ragini Vimal WB, Rati Kumar Maharashtra and M Sunitha AP qualified.
