CHANDIGARH, AUG 3: While several areas in the city and its vicinity were inundated with rain water late this afternoon, some parts remained totally dry.
The heavy downpour, accompanied by a strong breeze, disrupted normal life in different parts of the city.
Though technically, the local metereological office recorded only a trace of rain, low-lying areas were submerged and a few roads were flooded, disrupting traffic. A number of two-wheelers were also stranded, making it a heyday for mechanics.
The maximum temperature recorded today was 32.5 degrees Celsius, which weather officials say is about normal.
