Harare, Nov 11: South Africa restricted Zimbabwe to 48 for three before rain washed out the opening day of the second Test today.

Opener Grant Flower pushed forward tentatively to a delivery from Lance Klusener to be caught at second slip by Jacques Kallis. Zimbabwe were six for two three balls later when Shaun Pollock8217;s away-swinger came off the face of Trevor Gripper8217;s bat and clipped the top of his stumps.

A downpour halted play for three and half hours. Murray Goodwin was dismissed for 17 nine balls after resumption when he edged a delivery from Pollock to Hansie Cronje at third slip.
