Radhanpur MLA released, sees a plot to malign him

He said he wasn8217;t in Radhanpur the day the youths were killed and he had not incited the mob.

The two youths8212;Gulam Jilani and Gulamnabi Sheikh8212;were allegedly shot at, and lynched by a mob. Their bodies were burnt.

The relatives of the youths later moved court, accusing Chaudhary of inciting the mob and shooting the youths with his revolver. On court order, police registered another murder case naming Chaudhary as an accused.

Later, the police asked a local court for closing the murder case, saying it was related to the riot case. The court rejected the request.

Not satisfied with the investigation, the relatives moved the Gujarat High Court, saying the charges call for Chaudhary8217;s arrest. They urged that the case be handed over to CBI.

The High Court had asked police to report the progress in the case. The next hearing is slated for November 16.
