RSS chief K S Sudershan today called the reservation policy of the UPA government 8216;8216;an attempt to divide the Hindu society8217;8217;.

Addressing swayamsevaks on the Smruti Mandir premises here this evening, he said the vote politics of successive governments had left the country in a turmoil and the Hindu society was being made to pay the price for it.

8216;8216;The same attempt was made in 1981 too. But the Government now wants to extend it reservations to private sector also,8217;8217; Sudershan said adding that children of those who had benefited from the policy continued to take advantage of the policy.

8216;8216;Even some Brahmins are economically disadvantaged. Quota should be given on economic basis too,8217;8217; he said.

8216;8216;Give opportunities, but incapable people coming to the fore will affect our national skills and efficiency,8217;8217; he said expressing concern that nobody was worried about the development.

Sudershan, who made no mention of the terrorist attack bid on the RSS headquarters, said the 8216;8216;RSS has always stood by reservations at one particular level 8212; for the socially and economically disadvantaged.8217;8217; The RSS chief also slammed the minority status to Jains saying a conflict 8216;8216;is being created by raising the bogies of minoritysm and majoritysm.8217;8217;
