
Pak bid on post foiled
NEW DELHI: The Army today repulsed a Pakistan attempt to capture a post in Pallanwala sector in Jammu division killing five Pakistani soldiers but losing two of its jawans. In the heavy exchange of firing, two Indian jawans were killed and three injured. Pakistani rangers started heavy and unprovoked firing on Indian positions from across the Line of Control LoC at 1600 hrs and under the cover of heavy firing tried to capture the Pallanwala post which was effectively repulsed.

NEW DELHI: TRAI today announced proposals to drastically slash cellphone rentals and airtime rates and allow free incoming calls on cellphones by November 1. The TRAI has proposed that rentals be reduced to Rs 475 per month for cellphones present Rs 600 with peak airtime being slashed to Rs 4 per minute currently Rs 6.
