
Ahluwalia quits Cong
NEW DELHI: Senior Congress leader and former Union Minister S S Ahluwalia resigned from the party and joined the BJP here today. While introducing him before the media this afternoon, Union Home Minister L K Advani observed that Ahluwalia8217;s step reflected his pain and agony over the misdeeds of the Congress. In a statement Ahluwalia asserted that the Congress ideology for which he gave three decades of his political career was dead.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reportedly developed an advanced version of its surface-to-air Unza8217; missile, with which it had claimed to have downed an Indian MiG fighter in the recent Kargil conflict, and proposes to testfire it in September.

AGARTALA: A suspected agent of ISI was arrested on Monday from Simna, a border village under West Tripura district, about 20 km from here, police said. A BSF contingent, during it8217;s patrol, arrested the man while crossing the border.
