
Military courts unlawful, says Pakistan SC
Islamabad: The full bench of the Pakistan Supreme Court today declared the functioning of the military courts, established to deal with heinous crimes including terrorism, gang rape and murders, as unlawful.The court also declared the ordinance under which the military courts were set up as unconstitutional, without lawful authority and of no legal effect.
Rane wins vote
Mumbai: Chief Minister Narayan Rane today won the vote of confidence in the State Legislature as expected. The confidence motion in the specially-convened session of the Legislature was won by a simple voice vote obviously with all the Sena-BJP members and many Independents screaming 8220;aye8221; in favour of the motion.
Flights delayed
New Delhi: Despite the Government invoking the Essential Services Maintenance Act ESMA against the air traffic controllers'ATCs strike, the domestic flights schedule remained hit with about 70 flights being delayedin major airports across the country especially in Mumbai and Delhi. Civil Aviation Minister Ananth Kumar today held meetings with top officials.
AIIMS strike
New Delhi: The Delhi High Court today asked the Centre to take all possible measures under law to end the 10-day old strike by the doctors at AIIMS and place before it by February 22 what steps it had initiated in this regard. The striking doctors today took to the streets with no solution to the impasse in sight even after ten days.

Chennai: India has surpassed US to become the largest producer of milk in the world, Union Agriculture Minister Sompal said here today. 8220;We have now become the largest milk producer in the world by producing 18 million tonnes of milk ,8221; Sompal said .
