Customs chief injured
MUMBAI:
Chief Commissioner of Customs G S Tampi has been hospitalised in Bangalore following injuries he suffered in an accident on Sunday evening. Tampi, his wife Girija, and two others were injured when his car collided head on with a bus at Mandya, en route from Mysore to Bangalore. Tampi was returning from a wedding at Mysore. Customs officials in Mumbai said the driver of Tampi’s car was among those injured.

The bus seemed to have rammed the car in a bid to overtake another vehicle ahead of it. Tampi’s driver apparently failed in his attempt to swerve the car.
