Donations sought
Indian Leprosy Foundation has appealed to people to share the joy of Christmas and new year by donating cash for helping leprosy patients. The foundation has said that leprosy patients in the country have to lead a life of loneliness and misery although leprosy like any other disease is completely curable within six to twelve months of treatment.

The total of 40 lakhs cases a few years back has come down to nearly five lakhs patients now, the foundation said and added that Christmas and new year provide an opportunity to serve fellow humans in distress. Cheques should be issued in favour of Indian Leprosy Foundation, Post Box No. 7477, 11 Hardevi Society, Mumbai-60.

Desai elected
Nitin R Desai has been elected president of Poona Club Ltd. Kiran R Bafana is its new vice-president. Other members of the board of directors are Giri Chudasama, Chandu Dabhade, Nitin D Desai, Sqn Ldr B R Gulati Retd, Manoj S Malkani, Sunil S Handa, Sandeep Sanghvi, Deepak Shah and Sharad S Shah.
