GL Gagneja appointed chairman of NACT
G L Gagneja, Centre Head of Aptech-Patil Plaza was appointed as the chairman of the Pune Chapter of National Association of Computer Trainers NACT.

He will be assisted by Vijaylakshmi Nair, head of the CMS Regional Office, as joint secretary and honorary treasurer, besides a committee of members. Varun Prasad, president, NACT and director, CMS, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Exhibition of paintings
The Gangadevi Memorial Kala Mandir will organise the fifth group exhibition of fine art paintings by women artists of Pune at Rabindra Kala Kunj from November 14 8211; 18. Interested participants should deposit one/two paintings below 60 X 75 cms in size suitably framed without glass together with bio-data on November 11 and 12 between 11.00 am. and 1.00 pm. and 4.00 pm. and 6.00 pm.

Drawing competition
Umed Pariwar, a parent8217;s organisation of mentally retarded and cerebral palsy persons has organised a drawing competition for such children and teachers in special schools. Sketches drawn on poster size or greeting card size should be submitted to the Pariwar office at 907/908 Bohari Ali, Budhwar Peth by November.

Workshops for women
The Soroptimist International Club of Poona and Inner Wheel Club of Pune Riverside will conduct a series of workshops for women from October 23. Anubhav8217;s essay competition
Anubhav Shiksha will conduct an essay competition for persons in the age group 15 8211; 29 years. The topics for the competition include Youth and His Rights8217;, Growing Impact of Globalisation on Youth8217; and Impact of Media on Youth8217;.
