CEE for Medical Admission
Admission to first year MBBS/BDS degree courses will be made solely on the basis of the candidate8217;s performance in the Common Entrance Examination CEE to be conducted by the State Government on July 12. The marks obtained in the Higher Secondary Certificate HSC examination will not be counted.

The application forms will be distributed at all 11 government medical colleges and collectorate offices at district places from June 11. However forms should be collected from the collectorate offices at such district places which do not have a government medical college, Deputy Dean, B J Medical College and liaison officer of the Nashik Centre said on Sunday.

A meeting was convened by T C Benjamin, secretary, Medical Education, Maharashtra Government on Saturday where the date of the examination was fixed and rules were framed for conducting the examination. Dr Mrudula Phadke, dean, B J Medical College will be the liaison officer for Pune while Dr Suhas Dani, head of the Department of Gynaecology, BJMC was appointed liaison officer at Ahmednagar. The District Collector will be the main in-charge of the centres.

The examination will be held in four subjects 8211; physics, chemistry, biology and English. Candidates who have secured 50 per cent in the Secondary School Certificate SSC examination in the open category and 40 per cent in the reserved category are eligible to appear for the CEE. The application form will cost Rs 500 in the open category and Rs 250 for the reserved category candidates.
