Bifurcation
Ahmednagar: The State Government does not want to make the bifurcation of Ahmednagar district a prestige issue, district guardian minister Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said recently. 8220;Let Congressmen decide where the new district headquarter should be,8221; he said while speaking to media persons at Sangamner. The previous government headed by Sharad Pawar then had decided the location for the new district headquarter, he said without elaborating on it.

A committee headed by the revenue minister would suggest the new location to the cabinet, he said.

MMC members
Mahabaleshwar: Praveen Shinde and Iqbal Walge were recently co-opted as members of Mahabaleshwar Municipal Corporation MMC.

Both Shinde and Walge are considered closed to the ruling front led by former civic chief P D Parte which now has 16 members in the 19-member council. Seven aspirants had filed nominations for the two vacancies of the co-opted members.
