
Chandigarh, March 14: The Panjab University practical examinations of classes B.A. and B.Sc. General and Honours Ist, IInd and IIIrd year and B.Com which were scheduled to begin on Monday, March 15, have been postponed.
No fresh dates have been decided by the university authorities yet. The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of PU officials held in the office of Registrar Prof Paramjit Singh, this afternoon.
The meeting was attended by Dean University Instructions Prof I.B.S. Passi, Controller of Examinations Dr Sodhi Ram, Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor Dr I.N. Chaudhary and Dean College Development Council Dr Deepak Manmohan Singh.
The decision, Prof Passi said, was taken after the Association of Principals of Non-Government Colleges, affiliated to the PU, called upon the university authorities to postpone the exams. While adding that new dates would be decided and notified later, he categorically stated that there was no change as of nowin the dates for the theory exams scheduled to begin on April 1.quot;There is time for that, we will take stock of the situation and impress on the government to end the ongoing impasse which has led the teachers to observe tomorrow as a Black Day,quot; Dr Chaudhary said.
