Protests against MNS reaches Kolkata

Trinamool Youth Congress TMYC activists burnt an effigy of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena MNS chief Raj Thackeray at Ganesh Talkies on Tuesday to protest against his party8217;s anti-north Indian agitation in Mumbai.

Thackeray has been remanded in judicial custody till November 4 for his alleged involvement in the attacks on north Indian candidates appearing for the Railway Recruitment Board entrance exam for the Western region on Sunday.

The TMYC activists blocked the Ganesh Talkies crossing around 4.30 pm and raised slogans against Thackeray. Ashok Jha, general secretary of TMYC, said: 8220;We condemn the violence against north Indian candidates. Although, Thackeray has been arrested, it is unlikely to deter the MNS and chances are that Thackeray will be released soon.8221;
