Probe panel chief on leave

The inquiry into the communal violence in Mau is yet to take off8212;and it8217;s already stuck. UP8217;s former chief secretary Neera Yadav, who heads the probe committee, has proceeded on leave.

UP Principal Secretary Home Alok Sinha said that Yadav, the chairperson of the three-member inquiry commission, would return on October 30. 8216;8216;Neera Yadav went on a sanctioned leave on the day when the inquiry order was issued. Now, the order would be delivered to her on October 31, giving the committee three weeks thereafter to complete the probe and submit the report to the government,8217;8217; he said.

Neera Yadav was chief secretary till last month when her controversial tennuire canme to an end following a Supreme Court directive.
