Uttar Pradesh skipper RP Singh played down the favourites tag ahead of their Group A match against Rajasthan but said that his side has been shaping well this season. It was last year that Rajasthan had emerged champions. We have been doing well this season and I am satisfied with the way each of our players have performed in the last three games. We hope to carry on the good work, RP Singh told The Indian Express from Jaipur.
RP,who opened the season with a five-for against Punjab, says hes focussing hard on making a comeback to the national side. I am very happy with the way I am bowling as well as my fitness levels. I am completely prepared and raring to get back to national duty whenever I get a call, RP added.
Meanwhile,UP teams manager-cum-bowling coach Ashish Winston Zaidi also sounded confident about his teams prospects against Rajasthan. Rajasthan is behind us in the points table so we have a psychological advantage. We are taking one match at a time and with a good pace attack, our chances are bright, he said.
