Indian squash challenge ends

National champion Sourav Ghosal joined Ritwik Bhattacharya and Joshna Chinappa on the flight back home as Indias squash challenge at the World Games came to a halt on Wednesday.

National champion Sourav Ghosal joined Ritwik Bhattacharya and Joshna Chinappa on the flight back home as Indias squash challenge at the World Games came to a halt on Wednesday.

Ghosal went down 4-11 13-11 9-11 6-11 to Brit Nicholas Matthew in the mens singles quarter-finals at the Chung Cheng Martial Arts Stadium. Rest of the Indians in fray were out of the competition by the last-16 stage. Former national champion Ritwik Bhattacharya lost 2-11 21-23 6-11 to Frenchman Julien Balbo. Among the women,national champion Joshna Chinappa was outplayed 2-11 7-11 3-11 by world number one Nicol David of Malaysia.
