England paceman Chris Tremlett is a doubtful starter for the second Test against India as he is yet to recover from a hamstring problem and stiff back,local media has reported.
The second match is starting here tomorrow with the hosts leading the four-Test series 1-0.
The giant Surrey paceman missed training on Wednesday with a tight hamstring and England fear he will not recover in time, a report in the 8216;Daily Mail8217; said.
Tremlett also has a stiff back after his exertions in the dramatic first Test victory at Lord8217;s, the report added.
If Tremlett fails to gain match fitness,Tim Bresnan can replace him in the final XI. Bresnan is a part of the 12-man squad,announced by ECB for the second Test.
Tremlett had taken four wickets,including three in first Indian innings,in the first Test at Lord8217;s.
India are also likely to miss pace spearhead Zaheer Khan,who is also recovering from a hamstring problem,for the crucial match,which the visitors need to win to square the series.
Khan did not bowl in the England second innings in the first match,which India lost by a massive 196-run margin.
