Bangalore: Captain Jhulan Goswami and Gouhar Sultana grabbed three wickets each as Indian women thumped world champions England by 35 runs in the low-scoring first game of five-match ODI series. Earlier,Mithali Raj 62 and Priyanka Roys 69 not out struck half-centuries as India made 199 for five in 50 overs after electing to bat.

Australia wrap up series 4-0 after 125-run win

Melbourne: Australia squashed West Indies by 125 runs in the fifth and final one-dayer at the Melbourne Cricket Ground to win the series 4-0. All-rounder James Hopes was named the Man of the Match for smashing Australias fifth fastest ODI half-century.

England beat Pakistan by seven wickets

Dubai: An unbroken stand of 112 between Eoin Morgan and Kevin Pietersen saw England defeat Pakistan by seven wickets in a Twenty20 international. Pakistan were limited to 11 fours and two sixes in 129-8.

Lorgat congratulates India for No.1 ranking

Dubai: ICC chief executive Haroon Lorgat congratulated India for retaining the position of the No.1 Test team in the world following their second Test win over South Africa in Kolkata. Congratulations to Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his India side on their remarkable achievement. The final Test in Kolkata again underlined the unique attraction of Test match cricket, Lorgat said in a statement.

ICC happy with World Cup preparations
