Islamabad: Pakistans government is considering allowing three Pakistan players to compete in next years IPl after they were locked out of the competition in 2009. The PCB has asked for NOC from the sports ministry for fast bowlers Umar Gul and Sohail Tanvir,along with allrounder Abdul Razzaq.

Arthur welcomes UDRS

Johannesburg: The ICC has confirmed that the Umpire Decision Review System UDRS will be used during South Africas home Test series against England next month. The use of reviews for the forthcoming series in South Africa had been uncertain because of doubts over the home boards willingness to help fund the technology but the ICC has now confirmed that the system will be in place.

Aussie fans reject IPL

Melbourne: The IPL has failed to impress the Australian fans as they have termed the event as the biggest threat to the health of international cricket during a survey. Around 54 per cent of around 4000 respondents in the survey,conducted by Herald Sun,said the slam-bang format is not good for the health of international cricket.

Opening blues for Katich

Brisbane: One of the toughest things for Simon Katich since his Test return last year is his struggle to find a regular partner. When youre opening,you sort of form a team within a team, Katich said as he prepared for Thursdays first Test against West Indies. I guess thats been one of the hardest things for me since I came back into the Test team 18 months ago.
