NEW DELHI, February 8: Four days of heading the Delhi Assembly in the last winter session, the first stint he8217;s had after his appointment as Speaker, has changed Prem Singh. 8220;I realised then that many MLAs, who are first-timers, need to be taught how to behave in the House,8221; he says.

He has, therefore, decided to teach them a few things in a two-day orientation course for MLAs to be held on February 9 and 10. 8220;If even after this, the MLAs misbehave then I always have the book of rules which I will implement to the letter,8221; he threatens, while announcing the inauguration of the course, one of the first of its kind in Delhi.

And the book of rules, according to the former president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, will be same for both the the Congress and the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party BJP. 8220;Hopefully, the BJP MLAs should also attend the course as I have sent an invitation to the leader of the Opposition Jagdish Mukhi,8221; he said at a press conference today.

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and other senior MLAs would also attend the course, according to Prem Singh.

The course ran into rough weather recently when the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee DPCC decided to hold a demonstration against price hike of essential commodities on February 10 in the morning. The course had been scheduled for the same day. After some adjustments, the session has been postponed to the afternoon after 2 p.m. The demonstration, to be held at 10 a.m, was announced two days ago. The course will be inaugurated tomorrow.
