Pratik tutorials promises to repair structure

VADODARA, Dec 1: Even as the Vadodara Municipal Corporation VMC has decided to issue notices to coaching classes, which have been renovated without permission, Pratik Tuition Classes has given an undertaking to carry out the necessary repairs.

Soon after seven students and teacher were injured on Monday, when a wall of Pratik Tuition Classes located in the dilapidated building in Mandvi collapsed, the VMC had issued a notice to the class owner asking to demolish that portion of the class and get a certificate from the structural engineer.

While Deputy Municipal Commissioner Administration H S Patel, in-charge of the department was not in town, Executive Engineer Buildings N M Thakore told Express Newsline that even otherwise owners of dilapidated buildings in the city were regularly issued notices to carry out repairs.
